Lazure Marina & Hotel is located at the entrance to the scenic Boka Bay, next to the charming medieval town of Herceg Novi in the fishermen village called Meljine. The hotel building dates back to the 18th century when the old Lazaret existed on this site.
 
The Lazaret located in Meljine was built between 1728 and 1732 during the rule of the Venetian Republic and was one of the best organised and most efficient institutions of its kind. The Venetian authorities intended to make Herceg Novi a large trade centre, a competitor to Dubrovnik, so a representative infirmary (lazaret) for maritime and caravan trade in the wider southern area had to be built. 
 
Lazaret means quarantine, and it used to have the same function as the veterinary inspection today, that is to permit the import of various goods. As the word lazaret in many languages means infirmary or quarantine, during the construction of this tourist complex, investors decided to choose the new name for the hotel, but a name that will preserve the connection with the historical name of this place. That's how they came up with the idea of Lazure.

 

 

Today, the Lazure Marina and Hotel complex is a place where you encounter a real cultural-historical experience of the Montenegrin coast. The complex, in addition to its marina and beach, has an enviable number of facilities, the number of which continues to increase. In the luxury Boutique Hotel (the old Lazaret building), 24 units are sumptuously equipped and are facing the Adriatic or the courtyard, while the new building consists of 104 units, and 85% of the accommodation capacity has a sea view, featuring beautiful balconies. The new accommodation building was officially opened on September 1st with half of its capacity, while the full capacity will be operational from spring 2022.
