Wine is, actually, a pure picture of terroir and terroir is a pure picture of Montenegrin men´s nature, history and braveness. Our rocky landscape tells you our old story through our Vranac and Žižak (Gigiac) (autochthonous grape sorts), but our hospitality you can find in international grape-wines like Cabernet, Sauvignon, Merlot, Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc. If you really enjoy tasting wines you should try it at their home. So, we choose the three most interesting wineries with totally different expressions, just for you.
Godinje Village, Garnet Winery
Everything changes, but the part of our country we want to share with you remains the same for centuries. It is the village Godinje, located just above the Skadar Lake. Almost without people during most of the year but in the summertime, you can feel the smell of seasonal fruits and see the old-fashioned way of making wine and rakia. You will taste the real rural Balkan soul with home-made delicatessen. We will introduce you to wine (red from the native Montenegrin vine cultivar Vranac, rose from the Vranac and white made of Chardonnay) and fruit liqueurs (walnut, lemon…) made out of love and knowledge by one of the rare young residents of Godinje - Miško Leković.
Godinje Village
This tour includes one-hour guided walk through Godinje with Miško Leković, wine tasting with local food (three different sorts of local cheese, smoked ham, olives, fruit, bread…) and occasionally (pre-ordered only) fresh home-made menu.
Kopitovic winery, Virpazar Donji Brceli
A story of good wines starts with memories. Remembering the old times and the way how his ancestors used to make wine, Mr Žarko Kopitović is creating his own story. He has three daughters and a wife on his side, and a lot of history to tell you about his remarkable wines with a recognisable signature of Montenegrin terroir.
Kopitovic Winery
You will taste three most popular wine sorts from this producer with basic national cuisine plate (smoked ham, cheese, olives) but if you are a real hedonist you can also ask for very rare and unique wines made of Vranac grapes - limited edition Poskok or Kraljevski Pečat.
Rogami Radevic Estate
If you seek for some natural luxury, we highly recommend you to taste wines and food from the central region of Montenegro and visit the winery Radevic near the capital city. Those wines are made from grapes grown on naturally cleaned soil, without pesticides and herbicides. Wines are made by a great technologist Ivan Dašić, and the food you will taste is made by one of the best small food producers in Montenegro. The owner, Mr Goran Radević, has huge professional and life experience working as a doctor in China, South Africa, Cayman Islands and his life story is as breathtaking as his wines. On this tour you will taste six wines: dry Chardonnay, semi-sweet Chardonnay, Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah, Vranac and Reneé (premium liqueur semi-sweet white wine) with a national plate (cheese, olives, smoked ham, sausages all made by local producers).
