Kitesurfing or Kiteboarding is a surface water sport that uses the wind to pull a rider through the water on a small surfboard. There are a number of different styles of kiteboarding, including freestyle, wake-style and wave-riding which is focused on big waves and all three styles are practised at the club.
A kitesurfer uses a board with or without foot-straps or bindings, combined with the power of a large controllable kite to propel the rider and the board across the water. If you do not own your own equipment, you can rent a full kit from the club and choose from a huge assortment of RRD kites, boards and wetsuits. Kite Surf Club also offers a generous 15% discount on equipment rental for school attendees.
Kitesurfing has become more popular than windsurfing as a watersport because it is easier to learn the basics and from a logistical point of view, easier to transport the necessary equipment. At the club, kitesurfing will be taught safely and with thorough instruction from professional coaches.
