Description

Embark on this captivating journey with confidence, avoiding any unpleasant surprises, such a low-quality boat, uncertified, non-English speaking skipper or rush through the tour. We are fully committed to provide you with the best quality and experience because we want you to carry home only the best impressions of Montenegro. Our excursion will start from the main city park of Kotor, also known as 'Park Slobode'. However, this being a private tour, we offer you the option to do a pickup at a different location. If you decide to book, we can work together on finding the best location for you. One of the first sights that will capture your attention is Perast, a UNESCO site and one of the most beautiful baroque settlements on the Eastern Adriatic. You will have a chance to take pictures from the boat, as we pass it, because our first destination is none other than Our Lady of the Rocks. A man-made island, with a unique story to discover. During our 20 minutes stop there, you can walk around the 3000m2 island, take pictures, use a restroom, or if you would like to see our local Sistine Chapel, go inside the church (admission is 2 EUR per person). Leaving the Our Lady behind, we will pass to the narrowest pass of the Bay, the 'Iron Gate' if you will, called Verige straight. That will lead us into the Bay of Tivat, where you will be able to see, from a distance the luxurious marina Porto Montenegro, the old naval shipyard of Bijela and the newest marina in the bay - Portonovi. However, our next stop is just past them. Submarine tunnels in the Bay of Kotor encapsulate a unique blend of natural beauty and historical fortitude. Nestled within the stunning mountains and serene waters of the Adriatic and Mediterranean convergence, this locale is more than just a picturesque landscape. It serves as a formidable natural fortress with a rich history of military strategy and architectural ingenuity. Visitors to the bay can now explore these historical tunnels, gaining a glimpse into the clandestine naval operations of the past. After the tunnels, we will enter the open Adriatic Sea. Here we will pass next to the fort island of Mamula. In Venetian times, the island went by Rondina. Nowadays, a fort dominates nearly all of its surface. Lazarus von Mamula, an Austro-Hungarian general, put it up in 1853, along with two other fortifications at Prevlaka’s Cape Oštro and Luštica’s Cape Arza, to help ward off enemies from entering Kotor Bay. And finally, we are now arriving at the zenith of our trip - the majestic Blue Cave. It stands as a stunning natural wonder, a testament to the unique geological features of the region. It is not just a geological formation; it's a vibrant spectacle that draws visitors worldwide. The light filtering through the water bathes the cave in a surreal glow, enhancing the beauty of the surroundings and providing an unforgettable visual spectacle. After a 20-minute stop at the cave, we will return back to our start point.

Important Information

  • In case of severe weather, we can offer a different date or a alternate itinerary. Local weather is such that it can be calm inside the Bay but rough on the open sea, hence the visit to the Blue Cave might not be possible. We can offer an alternative itinerary in this case. Outside the summer months, we recommend bringing a jacket as it can get chilly on the open water. It is important to be at the arranged meeting spot at least 20 minutes earlier. In order to enter the church on Our Lady of the Rocks, you need to wear a shirt, as entering with swimwear is NOT allowed. Also swimming around the island, or taking drone footage is NOT permitted. Our Lady of the Rocks church has different working hours throughout the year, so let us know if you want to go inside and we will let you know what departure time would be best.
